The only remnants of the settlement that was here over that time is what we believe is the Palmer home, shop and barn. According to a Palmer descendant, the home which is approximately 15 feet by 15 feet was home to the Palmer family with four children.
One interesting piece of history is that the wagon road to Likely passed very close to the house and there are still remnants of the road visible on the land today. We were first told that this was the original Cariboo Wagon road, but the Wagon Road ended at Soda Creek where all goods were loaded onto paddle-wheelers and transported by boat to Quesnelle Mouthe where they were unloaded and transported by wagons pulled by oxen and stage coaches pulled by four horses for the passengers.
The two branches of Sisters Creek run through the property. In the hills above the ranch, the creeks are dammed and used for irrigation for the flats which were once part of the greater Dragon Lake many years ago. Although the ranch is not irrigated, the bottom lands of the valley are self irrigated from the hills around the land.
Sisters Creek currently raises Simmental cattle, Standardbred horses and produces hay, honey and eggs for the family.
